The next thing I change will be the top compression rings.
Came back running on 5 after the 3rd pass.
No smoke, just blowby from 1 cylinder.
Got the head off, everything looks 100%. Just no compression on #6
Pretty sure I broke the top ring. They were cheapies.

Glad to here the damage was minimal.................so how much boost were you pushing when the rings gave up on ya.

Just to clear a little confusion.
I was just making some 1/8 mile shake down passes on a 1/4 mile track
With me being rusty and a brand new car I wanted to get a feel for everything.
I did not even know it was on 5 until I stopped to pick up my time slip.
I was running 13 pounds of boost, just like I did on the dyno.
Car drives great, just need a better set of tires (these are 13 years old) and now a set of better rings.
I'm happy with it so far.

Damn it dude that Vid has me eye balling my Comanche Work truck with the tired old renix... I've mentioned wanting to do a street strip MJ before but I'm getting impatient, and my work MJ might get replaced with a J-truck, it's a long bed so the wheel base is good... Might even leave the 4wd in it and launch like the deisel trucks do. How does that Spirit feel down the track with the short wheel base? Looked like you blew the tires off on the first shift, or was that just getting out of the groove?
BTW nice looking little car, I could see that thing bruising some Ego's... I'd love to be there the first time you pull some NA big block Chevy running high 12's and they find out they got beat by a straight six tractor engine... You coasted to a 12 second quarter? Man... So any guess as to where it will be when you get past the shake down stage?

I found out the tires are 13 years old ! It will be getting new slicks soon.
Drove great, I built alot of caster into my front end design.
Car should run in the 10's when sorted.

Broke the ring lands on #6 piston.
Piston is off to Diamond to tell me why.
No signs of detonation...anywhere

Is there any change the ring gap closed up?
But then again, them cylinders should have been hotter on the Dyno ........But then again, the Dyno pull is less time then it take to travail 1/8 mile
Sorry arguing with my self
