Yep, just went back to rock auto, you're totally right.
I wonder why they don't just supersed the 87-93 chain to the 94-98 style if the newer style is better?

Got my header in the mail. After studying a LOT of header pictures it became clear that the APN header and many more brands are coming out of the same Chinese factory. Found this one on ebay for 89$ free shipping, figured worth a shot. It is scary good quality for the money. The welds have nice dime stacking and the header is very polished. It isn't DOM but hard to complain for the price. I will be making 2 new brackets from the transmission tunnel to the exhaust, as that is the reason headers crack.
My Ford 24lb injectors are also on the way, there was a Rebuilt set on ebay for $89 and I best offered at $69 and he took it. I've had good luck with Rebuilt injectors so, why not.
Still waiting for Clegg to cc my head so I can order the Pistons rods ect from Russ.

Got my forged 24cc Pistons and a bunch of odds and ends from Russ, and if you're considering a stroker I highly suggest him, he was more than helpful.
Also got my head from Clegg which look fantastic, also got my Scat rods from them (Russ didn't have them in Stock at the time unfortunately)
I bought a running 96 zj for $150 and pulled the motor, sent that block out to be bored 60 over
Got the 99+ manifold from the junkyard
I have a lot of pics that I'll upload tomorrow

I have one of those APN headers. They look real good for the money until you try to bolt them on. I (and others) have had to remove a lot of material from the intake manifold because of interference issues. I regret buying it and plan on getting a JBA next time. That said, mine is a few years old, perhaps APN has resolved the fitment problem by now. If they have, then they are a steal.

Ran into a snag, sent just the block to the machine shop, got it back and the camshaft wouldn't slip into the last cam. Brought it back, they said to leave the cam with them to make sure they are aligned. They installed another set of bearings but they say that one of the bearings needs to be reamed.
Is this a common problem and is reaming the solution?
Is it possible they installed the bearings in the wrong order or something?

I bet you find out it was #3, my machinist had to hone the block a bit to get the clearance right for #3, guess which cam bearing usually fails when they do.....
I got my block back and it would not seat in the last set of bearings. So i tried the front of the cam in just the front #1 bearing, and it fit. I went to the back of the motor and tried the rear of the cam in the rear #4 bearing and it fit. So I knew it was either #2 or #3. It did this with the stock 98 cam and my 229 Mopar cam. My machinist ended up doing the same the thing, another set of bearings, then ream the #3 bearing journal. Weird if that is the same as yours and the ones that fail on people....
