Well apparently now I'm off 180 lol. I'm flooded bad and had a backfire ! Everything was marked exactly the way it was. Guess once the gas dissipates I'll set to tdc again then pull out the distributor which is 180 off and set it to number one. Why I have to do this now and not before I have no clue what so ever/

Make sure that you're on the compression stroke when you re-index the distributor. Easy way to tell is by removing the number one spark plug, and stick your finger in the hole. As you turn the engine, you'll feel air coming out of the spark plug hole when you start hitting the compression stroke. Then you can set the harmonic damper notch to zero, and stab in the distributor.

As tough as these stokers are. Some folks have the ability to destroy them will sheer ignorance.
