Nope, when I purchased them the date to my door was supposed to be tomorrow. They sent me an email stating Edelbrock changed the availability date.

will this head allow the lifters to be replaced with out pulling the head, like can be done on more modern I6 designs?

I believe that question was asked and answerd already....and the answer was no they won't fit. Someone beat me with a stick if I'm wrong

It was asked and answered, but that was just an assumption based on a pre production model. They have made modifications since then. The latest pictures show pretty large push rod holes. Again, and assumption, but it is possible they enlarged them for the lifters.

I'm excited to see what can be done with the blank head. Modify it for larger valves, good springs, and touch up the porting. If someone offered something like that I would be very interested.

I hope they do!
Anyone here have experience with their oem ported heads? Not a bad deal for the stage 2 at 650. I have a renix and want to upgrade my head. I could buy a HO head from JY, but the machine work and price of new valves and springs might be a few hundred bucks. By the time I buy a head, porting kit, valves, and machine shop cost I may have been better off buying theirs. Plus they should have more porting experience than I do.

I was on the phone with Edelbrock tech this morning. They are drilled to allow lifter removal, sounds like they use 4.0 head bolts, no cam recomendations yet, shipping 3/27/2015 with "quite a few orders in already".

Ha! I knew they looked big.
Did you ask them about the springs?

I did not ask about the springs, I am going to be a low lift cam, low RPM user so it isn't as big deal for me. I can say that Edelbrock tech was very informed and easy to deal with. I don't think I have ever had any Edelbrock stuff before, I usually like to tinker with oddball stuff so I was pleasantly surprised by the tech guy's product knowledge. I also did some digging and found most of their stuff to be US made (Bonus!) and their carbs come from right down the road (Sanford N.C., Bonus, Bonus!).

The title of this thread makes use of the word "soon" very loosely. I'm now told ship date is first week in April.

New user here, been watching this thread for a while. Placed my order beginning of February and never got a straight answer from Summit or Edelbrock on the phone. Asked them on their FB page today and now they're saying May.

That response doesn`t make much sense or hold much water.
Due to increased demand they increased there production numbers which has delayed shipping ?
Something smells funny.......
