couldnt you just gain about 1 mpg by pushing the gas less??

So now I have that stupid whistle, starts around 1800 rpm and quits at 1900 and then again at 2100 to 2200...any ideas about killing this?

I think he means smooth the edges of the openings in the side of the throttle body for the sensors.
The sharp edges act like a whistle.

Sorry Sighman, and we'll leave the paint in the cans. I found this link searching for a photographed explanation, For the most frequently found whistle, this is the fix. And I am assuming that it is at coming off idle is when it is showing up. Hope this helps.
