Still think you have map sensor issues... they aren't the kind of sensor that either works or doesn't they get worse... The one I killed with intake backfires didn't actually completely die, it just didn't work well enough to go over a mountain grade in open loop without having backfire issues after I fixed the o2 fuse. It got worse until I replaced it, which made the problem go away.

1bolt and car: Check out the last few posts on bratcop's project--that is what I think my cel culprit is. An out of sync cam pos sensor(even if it's a few degrees and seems to run fine) can set a misfire cel.

I was thinking the same thing, except that mine eventually downgrades by starting to miss noticeably, mostly while idleing. I turn it off and retart it , and the miss is gone. The article I linked in my project build explained this perfectly...

I just sync'd mine up(had to rotate distro ~15* ccw) and cleared the 1391 code. I drove around the block and the code didn't come back. I'll see if it stays clear tonight.

The CEL still hasn't come back so on my 96 a P1391 random ignition misfire code can be set by an out-of-sync cam position sensor.

But I wonder if that could that also fix the specific cylinder codes?
