I am by no means an expert on this. And I am just repeating what I've read. And now that I have read a little more I will change my mind. Fully synthetic oils now come as standard equipment on many high end cars. I bet Silver is right. The way you drive the engine is more important to the rings seating than the oil you use. Drive it hard and very your speed often for the first 1,500 miles.

To clarify; in our case the majority of a need for a breakin oil is due tot he flat tapped camshaft we have.

So does using the comp cams additive package mean I should be OK?

I just finished a 600 mile trip in the jeep so watch for an update to my thread ;-)
