Anything larger than 2.5" on our 4.0L jeeps is going to be custom. I've searched wide for something like that.

And I think 2.5 in enough for everything under 4000 revs. I'm just going to look for a nice muffler and keep the 2.5 inch setup all the way back. And perhaps a hi flow cat.

Here is a picture of the header installed in my 2000 WJ. It was very tough to get the 4 bottom header bolts in. This header was not built with installation in mind. It was nearly impossible to get any of the bottom (blind) bolts in place. I managed to get 7 of the 9 bolts in but the other two will not be going in. It is just impossible to get the last two in, the pipes are right in the way with no clearance to speak of. I fired it up and i listened for any leaks. I let it heat up to temp and listened again and I heard no leaks. It sounds pretty good but I still have factory everything else (exhaust) so I can't quite hear it yet. I am now looking for a nice muffler and hi flow cat. I think that I'll be leaving the 2.5" pipe between the components. I think the 2.5" pipe is plenty if I stay under or around 4,000 revs. And the Y pipe is only 2.5" anyways, so why pay hundreds of dollars to widen the rest of the pipe to 3"?

Would you buy them again?

Yes I would. I have only had it for a day and about 10 miles but sure, I like it. And for 78 bucks shipped, who can complain? I am going to spend another 20 bucks and get some heat resistant tape.

How so? Especially when considering the usual throttle body for strokers is 62-63mm, which is 2.44" -2.48". And then some people are going to 70mm + (2.75"). Then take into account the length of the pipe, bends and other restrictions. Plus the fact that hot air expands. I don't believe 2.5" to be large enough for a stroker.

But Silver, Why should I use an expensive 3" exhaust pipe if my Y pipe is only 2.5"?

There would be no advantage there. Change the Y pipe.

The bottom bolts would not go in even if shortened? Thats strange.

Perhaps it is strange. Perhaps he should have installed
all the bolts prior to tightening then down.

Yeah they are near impossible to put on with the header on there because its really awkward to get your hands back there but if you at least put the bottom ones on first like silver is saying then slide the exhaust header in underneath the nuts. It's a lot easier, then you just tighten them up with an open-end wrench.

I wouldn't buy or use any header if I couldn't get all the bolts in place and tightened. Give it time, that just sounds like an exhaust leak waiting to happen and then more work. Do it right the first time and only have to do it once. The price is attractive.

4,000 miles with no leak. It will no doubt start leaking eventually and when it does ill fix it, but for now I am happy missing two bolts.

Yeah probably. But now that I am past my first oil change I wont be driving it as much. I wanted the break in miles to be on the highway so I drove it to work everyday for the first ~3,000 miles. But now that that is behind me I will be driving my Volvo to work and saving the tread on my new Goodyear Duratracs for the trail. Also, I still need to upgrade my injectors, but it runs so good I dont want to change anything. I will probably wait to do the injectors until I can afford a Tune from FlyinRyan.
The header was some of the best money I ever spent. 78.00 bucks. And if you can get all the bolts in please tell me how.
