Re: Stroker & Cam. Thoughts?
This might help...
With Dyno 2003, you can put up to 4 cams on the graph:
First open up several different sims with different cams.
With cursor on the graph, right click and goto properties, and select the plots you want to overlay.
I had great results with the Crower 44243 cam and 0331 heads on these sims. That's what I ended up using.

Re: Stroker & Cam. Thoughts?
FYI, changing the rocker ratio not only changes lift it also changes duration.

So it looks like a 96-04 cam is where it's at? Advance 4* and run 1.7s?

Hadn't thought of thatSilverXJ wrote:FYI, changing the rocker ratio not only changes lift it also changes duration.

Advertised duration (seat to seat) wouldn't alter but duration @0.050" would increase, yeah?

Makes comparisons much easier, I was printing up the tables instead.
I will look at a few more cams as well.
Cheers,
Ruffy.

That is correct. How much though? I've heard anywhere from 2-6*ruffy01 wrote:Advertised duration (seat to seat) wouldn't alter but duration @0.050" would increase, yeah?

Without knowing the ramp on the lobe I believe you can only guess.SilverXJ wrote:That is correct. How much though? I've heard anywhere from 2-6*ruffy01 wrote:Advertised duration (seat to seat) wouldn't alter but duration @0.050" would increase, yeah?
I need to familiarise myself a bit more with D/top Dyno. If I enter @0.050" durations it retains Advertised lift figures and unfortunately the table of cam specs (http://www.angelfire.com/my/fan/Jeep4.0Camshafts.htm) don't give @0.050" lift. I think the results could vary quite noticably using @0.050" figures.
Thanks for your input Silver

Desertjr, here are your requested sim's mate: (all on one graph, thanks Retlaw01XJ
)
3.935B x 3.500S = 255cid, -0.012deck,15.3cc piston dish, 0.051HG, 1.95"/1.54" valves: 9.57SCR
Comp Cams 231 & 232, Mopar 229 & OEM '96

I hope that's all legible, I'll add tables for you shortly.

Re: Stroker & Cam. Thoughts?
Screen shot is low quality.. and barely legible. Can you upload the original and provide a link? Or add as attachment?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Stroker & Cam. Thoughts?
Looks about the same... The overview is good, but its difficult to make out what colors line up with what cam. Does photobucket down sample the images??

Re: Stroker & Cam. Thoughts?
I just checked & I'd say yes. The original file is 1.25MB, the Photobucket file is only 144KB.Muad'Dib wrote:Looks about the same... The overview is good, but its difficult to make out what colors line up with what cam. Does photobucket down sample the images??
Can you suggest a better way to upload?
Never mind mate, see below.

Idk why but it won't show. Just blank box with a ? Mark in it lol. Can you possibly upload to photobucket and link them on? I can't thank you enough for helping me confirm though! Also great info for other people who search for this kind of information!
However from the one you posted above of the graphs, it shows the 96 actually being worse than them all down low, but more power up top. Did you run it at 4* advanced? I can make them out ever so slightly & it looks like the Mopar229 beats the comp 232, and the comp 231 beats them both?

I'm not sure why the attachment isn't showing for you, it shows here really well.
Can anyone else see it???
