never mind i was reading over .100 of preload on the dial gauge. i'm going to take the pushrod checker to my machinist and have him measure it.

wonder how strong stock 4.2 pushrods are. my springs are 255# open and 100# closed. 1 of them falls right where i'd need to be going off of what the dial indicator says

.060" is the max. Personally I would go for .030-.040". More preload is not necessarily good unless you are doing it for a reason.

Its not that kind of pushrod tool. That one you have to measure.
