Yes, the edges are wrapped around with tack welds and then a few other tack welds where the screen meets the girdle. IIRC each strap has two hand formed rivets each. Small nails cut to the appropriate length then the cut side of the nail mushroomed with a small ball-peen hammer. The oil pan also needed some massaging.

Its directional, so picture the little louvers pulling air and oil off the crank. Both sides of she screen are the same but it has to be installed in a certain orientation.

If I did it again, well I would either do it the same way or I wouldn't do it again. Getting everything aligned and bent correctly was a major pain in the ass.
