Interesting symptom, but I can understand how it happens. Glad it was an easy fix!

i had the same problem played with it for 3 days i couldn't find any thing out of place. even resorted to swapping parts. on a whim ( i have enuff spare parts to put like 3 jeeps to together at all times ) i swaped out the comp (ecu) from a 91 to 94 cherokee / grand cherokee / comanche / wrangler dose'nt mater as long as it is a 4.0L there isn't any difference even if it is stick or auto. and found out that out of the dozen or so i have 4 out of 12 did the same thing would have a rev limiter at like 2500 to 3000. runs fine as long as you dont can it and then nothing. give it a shot but careful that you don't get a bad one. and i haven't been able to tell what the deal was in the comps to know why it would kick in. so swap in a bone yard comp and try it out.

Any Ideas?
Plugged up cat.
Took off the exhaust from the header back. Sounds cool, but no difference
