OH Ya just got the phone with summit. Placed my order for Keith Black IC944 .040 over bore, Comp cam 68-231-4 kit (cam, timing set double no roller, valve retainers, valve springs, valve guides, valve stem seals, valve locks, assembly lube and lifters) Melling Oil Pump M81A, and a new set of Fel-pro head bolts.
Wow and still have more to go.
The machine shop is turning the 4.2 crank .010 on all bearings as they found that is was .006 out of round (being Straightened).
Block has been boiled and rough bored tell I get them the pistons.
I did my price shopping and saved over a $150 bucks by having summit price match the items.

Ok now going to enter more data to my spread sheet

You will want to cancel the order for the kit. Searching here would have told you why. The valve components will not work with the 4.0L head and valves.

OK i have canceled the order on the cam kit. Some parts have came in. I am waiting for the pistons to show up at my door step they are coming straight form keith black. I have been trying to find ARP rod bolts and can not find them. I have call ARP and they said they do not make them? I see other people have used them. (4.0 rods) ANy help would be great.
Thanks

Hesco sell the ARP 112-6001 rod bolts for $89 while Summit Racing sell exactly the same ones (unless Hesco's are gold plated

) for $56:

You can also buy the Mopar Performance valve springs, retainers, and locks from Summit Racing:

Yes final got my pistons today (KB944 .040).

Talked to the shop yesterday and they have the head cleaned up and some of the valve job done. They also told me that it is warped .009 so they are going to mill it down .010 But my concerns are what is it going to do to the compression now?
trying to post pics.

this info was in the FAQ ... you can use the info to rework the numbers on the stoker calculator
http://www.jeepstrokers.com/forum/viewt ... f=34&t=241
did you order the KB moly piston rings with your pistons, or did you go with another brand?

That'll raise the SCR by 0.15:1. Too little to sweat about it.

Ok guys its been along time since i have been on here. SInce I have last been on here i have had all the machine work done and now i'm assembling it all back together.
Now I have the lower end all done and now i am working on the head and vavle train. So when the shop had the block they milled .009 off the head and Zero decked the block wich was .023 off the block. And as well I have the felpro .053 head gasket If I need to get the .043 head gasket i will. I just got done checking the push rod lenght to see if mine would work. I used comp cams procerdure to measure for the push rods preload I come up with .125 or 1/8" Now should i order new push rods or just order shims? I'm thinking new push rods. Now should i get the .043 head gasket? And do you guys all believe I should have enough valve clearance with either gasket?
Sorry for not keep up on my post but i have been work overtime ever week and just do not have much time.

Valve clearance is a non issue dont worry about that.
The .044 HG will offer a better quench than the thicker HG that you have. This will be a choice that you will have to make about what you want for your build. Generally speaking the tighter quench will allow you to have a higher compression with out detonation and ping using lower octane fuels. This is a good thing. Depending on your build though it may not be an issue (lower compression build).
To really get an accurate Compression calculation you need to CC the combustion chambers.
New Pushrods are the way to go.

And the new pushrods measured out at 9.560 for the length.
