The p5249464s will work, but you have to get the retainers to work with them. You can reuse your stock keepers/locks.

Okay im gonna try to get summit to just swapp them out..any chance anyone has a pn for the retainers?
If not ill just have them look it up wen I call

Here are the part numbers and prices I found when I was looking at going with those springs and you will see they are much better than Summit. You may be able to get Summit to price match for you....

Were you able to verify if the timing chain and gears will fit?

im almost positive the chain will fit because someone on here mentioned somthing about needing the chain to fit the older crank, and since the kit is for like 80s 258s it should?
but if someone else could verify to be sure?

and yea i wish i woulda asked first but at least i found out before i started on the head.

This is a nice timing set. I am running one in my 401 cj5. I used a JP timing chain set in my 4.6 stroker (basically the same as the Rollmaster billet set.

The timing chain set has to match the style cam you are using. You can use an older style cam (1 bolt with spring and pin) in a newer style block (one that has a retainer plate to hold the cam in). But you must buy a timing set, retaing bolt, washer, pin and spring for the older style cam. Discard the cam retaining plate and screws off the block. In my opinion, I would use an older style timing chain cover also, one that has a little nipple inside for the pin to ride on.

So my order from summit came today. Very fast shipping. Since I can't use the springs and retainers. Is there a problem using stock and saving some money?

i talked to summit and they sent me a packing slip for the springs retainers locks and seals, and i order the mopar springs and retainers

Doea amyone kno abour degreeing the cam? If I need ro do it of not? Someone just mentioned it to me but I disnt thonk it neess done on the inlone motprs

Yes, degreeing the cam needs to be done. If you want the most from your engine with minimal issues you need to do it. Check the forum as there has been quite a bit on here recently about this.
