They were the single most expensive part of my build up... $664AUD excluding freight :bs: . That cost about $20AUD to have them sent from the other side of the country. Pricey, but I wanted them. They are not stocked anywhere either so I called Yella Terra direct and they still had the design so they made them up for me in a couple of days. Part number YT6328.

Well my injectors have arrived and my painless perfect 68mm throttle body will be here in about a week as well as valve springs/retainers and gasket teardown set.

Pistons and pushrods... :?: Summit Racing... :frustrated:

Just checked my order again for pistons and rings on Summit .... date now is 10/07/2010 :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: :frustrated:

Any other manufacturers that can deliver before this date?

Try cncmotorsports.com, or Jegs. You can also check with your machinist or have a set made (Ross, Wiesco ect...)

Thanks!!

None of the parts suppliers have them on the shelf and I am not counting on KB again for the date that gave me (for the 4th time).

So I just sent a fax order form to Venolia Pistons (http://www.venolia.com). Their prices are very reasonable (about 75 bucks per piston) and they will get me the pistons in 2 - 3 weeks.

I feel your pain don't worry, I had the summit sales rep speak to a guy at Keith Black because KB told me that the 60 thou overbore pistons were still six weeks away from manufacture (this was ~2 weeks ago). He then informed me that he had 40 thou pistons in stock which I opted to go for so i could get them quicker. I'm going to call Summit again tonight to see how it's all coming along... Their whole online order process really is pathetic, i'll never buy another item from Summit if i can avoid it, even if have to pay more elsewhere.

My car could be almost operational by now if i had these things when I expected them!

Pistons are into stock @ Summit and were waiting to be dispatched once the pushrods arrived which weren't expected until end of September (crappy online eta told me that).

I cancelled the pushrods and put the money i spent there into the freight cost instead to get those pistons sent over here ASAP. They're now on their way, from USA to AUS i'd expect them to be here in 1-2 weeks :banana:

I wanted 60 over so went with Venolia (heard good things about them). Can't wait for my jeep to be running again. :rockout:

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh so my pistons and rings arrived today and I took them straight to the machine shop. Along with engine gasket - which by the way I ordered the Mopar Performance Complete engine teardown set (PN: P4529245) with the understanding that I'd receive a Mopar Performance gasket with it. If I should be so lucky! I received a Fel-Pro 9076PTI instead to my dismay as it has thrown my calculations right out! The shop are now going to work out how much needs to be decked and whether or not we need to shave the cylinder head to suit a 9.5:1/9.6:1 compression ratio.

The machine shop are also boring out my manifold to suit my 68mm throttle body. They are also port matching the intake manifold and extractors to cylinder head as well.

I finished the breather hole relocation on the 32RH as well. About to to install the swaybar quick disconnects and clean up the garage in anticipation for the mess that's about to take place in about 1-2 weeks... PAAAAAARTTYYYYYY! :rockout:

I made the same error buying that gasket set and used that .051" HG(but none of the cork stuff). If I ever have to take the head off, I will put on a thinner VR one.

Yeah man that gasket set is a joke. I had to go to the dealership to buy some gaskets because the machine shop needed them to keep working. The intake/exhaust gasket from the mopar set didn't fit so it was a visit to the dealership for me :doh:

I received some cool new engine mounts from Brown Dog Offroad http://browndogindustries.com/Wrangler-TJ-40L.aspx. I went with the ultraflex rubber and must say they're the goods. I can't wait to mount them up and see how they fit.

I got the block and bottom end back from the machine shop and set about checking all of the ring gaps and crush on the mains' bearings. It's thou inch perfect, they did a great job.

I'll be bolting down the crank and mains tomorrow as well as rods and pistons. I'll post up some pictures as it starts to come together.
