Today Nick and I went back and yanked the crank out of the wrangler. 2 hours and $30 total for an excellent crank(can return any random crank and get a $5 core charge back). There is still another 87-90 wrangler resting on the hill in the back corner that also has it's tranny&x-fer case yanked already, so easy pickins for whomever. Picked up a good ps pump/bracket setup for the 99+ intake, a 96+ valve cover, a 96+ 10-blade e-fan, and a pass side axle shaft for the 01 I'm fixin. This is at Crazy Rays in Jessup(on rt 1 just south of 175 in MD).

I just learned today that new american made cranks will become available in the next few months. They will be 4CW, and 258 stroke and 4" stroke will both be availabe. Since it is a new casting, the 4" stroke rod journals will still be stock size.

I'm thinking tha 4" stroke motors will start becoming common. Maybe Mopar will offer a 4.9!

Can you say who they are being made by? How about cost?

I know YJ_and_Corey made a reference to new cranks in one of his post, is it the same source?

You mean ATK, as from what I heard they are the ones making the Mopar strokers?

Could the aftermarket be listening to our cries for parts? Maybe a real roller cam is next?

I can't say the source, but it is not ATK. Pricing has not been set, but the target is around $500.00 You could spend close to that purchasing a crank and getting it reground.

Look for complete kits to follow with aftermarket connecting rods.

They are not 4" stroke.

They are exact replicas of the latest 258 cranks. 4CW, short snout.

They are not American made, but they are ground from raw here.

Since they will be standard, 4" stroke is possible.

So according to some of the guys in this thread:

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f19/mopa ... er-772587/

The new MOPAR stroker is getting a roller cam & lifters :rockout: Not sure how accurate their info it, but have any of you guys heard this? It's the first time I've heard anything about it. Be nice if we could open up the mopar catalogue and order a roller cam.

I call BS until I see photographic proof... Besides its JeepForum. 90% of the people there wouldn't know what a roller lifter is if it was embedded in a body orifice.

Are you guys talking about the new cranks from hesco? They only show it as a new stock sized crank, late model type. 4 cw short nose. WOW are they proud of themselves,I mean I knew they were never cheap, but  $997.00 :o $797 introductory price but who knows how long thats for. Now if it was forged :slobber: ,I could see it,but come on. I know, I know, just be glad someone is making them... i would be if it was in my budget.

505 Performance also sells new cranks... they start around $830 and have 3 options, IIRC. Still don't see a $500 price.

If im not mistaking, I think I read the cranks will be made by Scat, and its sounded like there a good enough company that anyone will be able to call and buy one direct. Don't quote me on it though.
