crank and rod info needed

Ah.. I understand now. I did see a clifford engine that used non Jeep rods and just welded the rods up.

I don't likethe idea of welding up the crank better than welding the sides of the rods. The rods will distort, and it may be hard to get them back to spec. If you weld the crank before grinding, the grinding will put the crank back within spec.

I never heard of anybody welding rods.

Unless they've made leaps and bounds in welding CAST cranks in the last few years I would NEVER!!!!! run a welded cast crank!
I've seen lots of FORGED rods welded on the sides to increase the width of the big end, they should be reconditioned anyway, they do it after they grind them to the new width.
You can get more power out of ANY engine!!!
