push rod length???

As i am now in the phase of the pushrods, the garage that installs my stroker took the length of 1 pushrod side and based on that i ordered the whole set. Now as he installs it he said that it fits one side exhaust or intake but it does not fit the other. I thought that they're should be as the same size isn't that right ?

Anyways he wants to stock rods and start the engine i worried if that will damge the engine ..
