The Apexi device doesn't display Air/fuel ratios. You need a wideband to show the AFR. In my case I use a Wego II by Daytona sensors that has built in data logging. The is how I saw that the AFR was going lean, along with a correlated loss of power.

The Apexi is what is used to modify the MAP sensor signal going to the computer (PCM). That is what is used to adjust teh AFR. In my case I didn't have it setup 100% and it caused the engine to go lean in that spot.

How did that coating on your header hold up to the cam break in? I’m curious to know, I am considering the same route.

The coating has been good so far. I think that was the test for it.

Cool Silver, glad to hear the good results. I know you used the Turbo X 2000. Who exactly is the manufacture and do you have someone you would recommend sending my header off to. Maybe who ever coated yours?

I don't know the manufacturer off hand, but I used http://www.thermaltechcoatings.com/ in VA for the coating. Quick turn around time and quick responses. Its similar to Jet Hot's high temp coating, but I have heard many bad things about Jet hot's service.

Hey silver, how's the OBDII handling the stroker? Anything I need to know or do before installing my stroker? (03 TJ, 27lb injectors recommended by Five-O)

The OBD handles it just fine. No codes and the injectors are working great. I'm surprised that these injectors are just about perfect for the stroker I have now (long rod, .030" KB944, good quench) where on the old stroker (short rod, standard .040" hypers, horrible quench) they ran horribly rich. I would strongly recommend purchasing a wideband though so you can monitor your ARF so you either don't run lean and burn something or rich and wash the cylinder walls at WOT. This was as about a week ago since my XJ is down to replace the flex plate and transmission inspection.

I pulled the tranny to replace the flex plate because I had a sound like rod knock, but it was coming from where the crank meets the flex plate. The transmission checked out and they couldn't find an issue with the torque converter with their testing methods. So, new flex plate and bolts, and a full fluid change.

Figured I would throw in a few pics of what this engine went into. Just screwing around at the storage unit.

Thanx.. its a lot of work to try to keep it looking nice.. but it does have its issues, but what can you expect from a 9 year old vehicle? And it does get the occasional off road work out. Its still a work in progress though...
