Calculator...

Post by Muad'Dib »

I have been trying to get something working that is unique to this site to be able to make calculations for your stroker builds.

Just winging it really fast, i thought about linking to the link below in the header area (next to FAQ, Rules etc..)

Stroker Calculator

I am not even sure if this is the calculator we want to use ... but we can also change that later.

I am also researching a php, java, or similar solution.

What do you guys think of what i created above? What kind of suggestions do you have? Please give me any and all input..

Thanks

Never used that type of calculator before but I played around with it and it seams to work just fine.............

If we could add a line, to do "DCR" would be nice...........If that possible

Let me know if that works and if the math works out right.

Be careful, the links you give allow any old person to make changes to the spreadsheet that effect everyone.

Mucho better... get the idea from my link ;)

Anyway, so is this the calc we want to use / satisfactory? Or should we look into a different solution?

thats the basic calc that i think everyone has been using. nice to have it posted on the web to play around with. for the purposes of this site, i think we need to expand it to calculate as many parameters as possible.

if you could build it into the site it would generate more traffic here. if its linked externally, someone could be linked there without ever visiting jeepstrokers.com or even knowing of its existence.

I agree we need robust, and as fully featured as possible. linked or a button right on the main forums page so all the forums are visible from the calc.

Also it really needs to be secure.

Also remember the slicker and more integrated with the site (same colors etc.) it is, the more people will use it and recomend it to others... If any graphic elements are needed to help it fit in here let me know what you need.

Tigershark, you can change the IVC value to your specs. I did this for my build and the calc was right on per what Flash told me for dynamic compression with his calculator/dyno, 6.99:1. :D

I agree..

What about this:
http://www.jeepstrokers.com/calculator/calculator.htm

If we want to use another spreadsheet as the calculator, someone or multiple someones need to make/modify one and then attach it to this thread so that i can do the rest.

As you can see from the link above, it can be done so i think now we need exactly what we want on a spreadsheet then we can integrate it into the board.

That's vary good to here!!!!

I think this calc will work perfectly fine for us, But............. i think you need to down load this one.
Here is the SCR/ DCR calc. that i down loaded off the Internet and is the one i have been using to figure DCR here.
I copied and pasted it from the compression ratio thread
Go here

http://cochise.uia.net/pkelley2/DynamicCR.html

And then scroll to the bottom of the page and look for this.

DCR Calculator with VB6 Runtime files 1.55 MB

DCR Calculator without VB6 Runtime files 423 KB

For those that under stand the math involve .........its explained about half way down!!!!!!!

Muad'Dib and 1bolt, I encourage you to down load it and see for you self.......I think it's easier to use and it explain what to do, each step of the way.............

Thanks for getting that calc on here. I'm still trying to get my DCR below an 8.33. According to that previous link that Flash posted with the DCR calc w or w/o VB, I should shoot for an 8.2 or lower. My SCR is gonna be b/t 9.5-9.8:1.

Sorry, didn't mean any offense. 96+ stock cam IVC at 62 FWIW, at least thats the info I have. Pre 96 is 75.
