What engine are you guys using?
I have an old one that supports it just fine. The problem is when I go to rotate the motor and when the center of gravity changes you better not be in the way when the motor starts to turn.
I am in my 60s so not as strong or as fast as i once was.
So thinking about getting one of the engine stands with a gear head that you turn the handle and it slowly rotates the engine.
But there seem to be a lot of them and the reviews are all over the place.
I currently have our 4.6 stoker out of our rock crawler ( old chassis is bad so putting it in a new chassis) and want to go through it before i reinstall it. We have been beating on it for about 10 years so just want to make sure everything is ok. Oil pressure is good. runs strong as ever. But has the dam 4.0 tick and would like to fix that before I re install the motor in the new chassis.

Re: engine stand
This is the engine stand I went with. Seems to handle yhe weight good. I did grease it before I hung the motor on it. Amd I did rotate it once. It seem to handle it. Crank was a little hard to turn. And there was a little slop in the gear box. But I am not doing this for a living so it should be good. It just makes it easier for this old man to rotate the engine without getting hurt.
