Hi,
Looking at swapping in a Dodge 68mm throttle body from a 2003 Durango 4.7l V8 with that of the stock TB on the 4.0. I've already picked up the adapter plate, but realized that the wiring plugs are different. This was a surprise as I thought it was plug n play.
Has anyone done this swap and are there wiring adapters available, or is this a repin situation? Pictures attached.
Thanks for the help, appreciated.
V

Re: Dodge 68mm Throttle Body on Jeep 4.0 Stroker - Wiring Question
Going on a 1993 Wrangler stroked 4.0.....in reading further it looks like the 2003 has a 2 wire IAC while the 2001 has a 4 wire. This might mean that I need a 2001, which is weird since the dodge TB said it worked for 2001 - 2003. Confusing.

I don't have any experience performing a Dodge 4.7 TB swap as I went an entirely different route ('93 Mustang 5.0 Cobra 65mm TB) and that definitely wasn't plug n play.
With OEM style 68mm TBs costing around $450 and the Hesco 68mm TB costing an eye watering $600, adapting the Dodge 4.7 TB is a worthwhile exercise.

Thanks Cheromaniac, I agree and am checking into options. Right now my cost is just over $100 for the adapter and a 2000 GC TB. Once the TB is received will check sensor fitment and wiring options. It 'seems' doable, but will find out.

I’m using the wj 65mm in-68mm base tb on my 99 xj. I had to swap the tps wires on the 99 harness.
