My 258 overheated due to a cooling problem. Now it sounds like a diesel at idle with the hood up, but you can't really hear it with the hood closed.
What is the likely problem?
What is cause behind a 258 sounding a little like a diesel?

They are subject to excessive rocker arm bridge wear and lifter noise, that's probably what you're hearing?

Something warped from the heat possibly causing a broken piston/skirt? Anything like that making noise is going to require the motor coming apart.
