harmonic balancer use
I am in the process of trying to get a repair sleeve for my balancer that is currently on my engine. I don't have a spare one available to get an actual measurement from , are the balancers for the 4.0 the same for all years or is there difference between the early and later 4.0 engine? The vendor I am looking at to get the repair piece only lists to 91.

Re: harmonic balancer use
Same, but i would just replace the balancer instead of using a sleeve

I've seen too many of them come apart. The hassle of removing them in the Jeep and them being less than 50 bucks, it's a no-brainer

Re: harmonic balancer use
Just to update , the balancer has roughly 30,000 on it as it was new when I installed the engine. I got time today to remove the balancer to find it was just a low grade seal that failed in the timing cover. I have a new national seal that fits snugly as it should on the hub of the balancer. The balancer hub shows no sign of grooving so I am just going to polish it up and reinstall the new seal .
