Re: Help with stroker
It's a 93 jeep xj with a 4.0 auto I would love a big choppy cam somewhere around a 480 lift. I was wondering what all u have to do to the computer to get it to idle and run right.

Re: Help with stroker
It depends on what else you're going to put into your stroker. The poor man's route specs the stock cam.Jfleming wrote:It's a 93 jeep xj with a 4.0 auto I would love a big choppy cam somewhere around a 480 lift. I was wondering what all u have to do to the computer to get it to idle and run right.
What's your budget and what are your goals for the stroker build?

Re: Help with stroker
Why would you want a big cam that might not play nice with your engine computer when your stock rev limiter is at 5200rpm? I suggest you go for a cam with an advertised duration near 260* or a 0.050" opening duration of near 205* e.g. CompCams 68-231-4 or Crane 753901. Both will give you a nice spread of torque over the normal 800-5200rpm operating range.

Re: Help with stroker
Idle quality should be smooth with either of the cams that I mentioned with a vacuum of ~17inHg.Jfleming wrote:Thank you! What will it sound like does it have any kind of chop to it.
You can run the stock computer and stock converter.
