Re: will this work? MAP adjuster
As long as you can adjust from 0 to 12v then it should be fine.
Thats pretty spendy just to have control in the cab.. keep in mind you will still have to turn off the ignition when making adjustments and or switching from modified voltage to stock voltage (or at least i have to on my RENIX).
Id build my own and save all that money. I mounted my home built adjuster near the Windshield Fluid reservoir with the POT facing towards the hood. I can easily pop the hood and flip the switch or make adjustments.

Why do you have to,
(turn off the ignition when making adjustments and or switching from modified voltage to stock voltage (or at least i have to on my RENIX).
Think i missed something

Re: will this work? MAP adjuster
Just the way it works on my RENIX. I cant flip to stock voltage without killing the engine. This just means that you have to turn off the engine to make adjustments and then turn it back on.
If it feels right, then STROKE it!

Re: will this work? MAP adjuster
I picked up a used Apexi S-afc from a buddy for like $80- it is perfect for controlling the AFRs on my 98- I use it with a wideband in-cab in real time to make subtle adjustments as I need- For instance, just last week I noticed my AFRs at the upper end of the rpm range under full throttle were dipping into the 11s, so i popped the glove box open at the next traffic light, pulled 2% @ 4500, 5000, 5500 rpm and then watched the afrs during another wot pull when the light turned green. was happy with the new AFRs, so I put the controller back in the glove box, closed it up, and went on my way. I don't know what could be more convenient than that.

Re: will this work? MAP adjuster
Is your Apexi connected to the MAP sensor? Is it modifying the MAP sensor voltage? When you 'pulled 2%' was that effectively decreasing the MAP voltage at those rpm's?doublins wrote:I picked up a used Apexi S-afc from a buddy for like $80- it is perfect for controlling the AFRs on my 98- I use it with a wideband in-cab in real time to make subtle adjustments as I need- For instance, just last week I noticed my AFRs at the upper end of the rpm range under full throttle were dipping into the 11s, so i popped the glove box open at the next traffic light, pulled 2% @ 4500, 5000, 5500 rpm and then watched the afrs during another wot pull when the light turned green. was happy with the new AFRs, so I put the controller back in the glove box, closed it up, and went on my way. Re: will this work? MAP adjuster
When you guys use the 'MAP adjuster' and you adjust it to increase the voltage to say 5.25v, Do you get a CEL?

Re: will this work? MAP adjuster
I have set mine as high as 5.5v on the 99WJ without issue. Just for testing when I had the tune too lean.
