Very cool and clean looking car. I'm putting a 4.7 stoker in my 1936 Dodge 2 door Sedan with the clifford intake and holley 390 carb.

Thanks! That thing took me forever! I had just broken my neck and back so I started shopping on ebay and buying the gauges and stuff one at a time. Then had to rework the original panel to back the aluminum gauge panel! Like I said. Thing took forever to get together and wired in!cherokee wrote:That's a great looking dash.
I had not idea it would take so much work to sort it all out! Glad I did it though !

Right now it has an honest original AMC-T5 out of an 82-83 Spirit. I have a World Class T5 for in it once I go through it and change the tailhousing over to the AMC T5s.

Re: 4.0L in a 69 American
I loved your '69 4.0 Wrambler so much I decided to copy it. Only we started with a '64 convertible. It's a shorter front so we channeled the firewall and enlarged the tunnel. Now it fits & looks sweet.
I wanted to be clear on one point. Are you running the stock rear end? Is it strong enough?
Thanks Phil

Re: 4.0L in a 69 American
If the '64 has the same rearend as the last of the Americans it'll hold up!, dad's '67 has a 327 chevy against the stock 6 rearend, I flogged my '68 unmercifully with a HOT! 258 in it but I swapped it out for a Ford 8" when I put the 343 in it, it was cheaper than fixing the brakes on the AMC rearend, the AMC six rearend is quite stout for it's size!
