hi, my name is david, i am interested in building a fast street xj. i am not new to xjs i had an 01 5spd 4 door with a 5.5inch rubicon long arm lift with a high pinoin front axle conversion with an arb locker in front and a no slip in my 8.25 rear. i loved that jeep soo much, unfortunately i was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident a year a go, much has changed but lucky im still here and wheelin. so i am currently looking for a 2000 or newer 2 door automatic stock cherokee to stroke or v8 swap. I dont have access to much in the way of a machine shop so id like to drop in a crate stroker or ls motor(id rather a stroker) iv researched the available crate strokers a bit and found that my first choice by virtue of numbers to dollars, the titan has a terrible reputation! however i have noticed in everything i have read the posts/engines being discussed are about two years old. I also read that titan rereleased their 4.9 monster with forged internals and a good looking build sheet. I have herd good things about hesco and mixed reviews about atk. my budget is around 11k including the purchase of the xj. i have a very competent and willing friend helping me who has a lift and heated space to work on this project so elbow grease isnt a problem, i just need some friendly advise/opinions on what engines you guys think would be best suited for the job. hope to hear from you all soon.
