Magnaflow cat

Post by omegatron »

Well...I've been driving around with a cracked exhaust header for WAY too long! I thought I could hold out until I put in the stroker, but the jeep smells really rich while running. I bought a new exhaust header from ebay for the stroker and now need to use it to fix my current issue. Here is a similar model:

I've been looking around and found a magnaflow that includes a new head pipe, model #23227.

I currently have a '92 yj with a nv3550 tranny (from a tj). The cat is for a 97-99 tj. Is there any reason this will not work or won't be up to par when the stroker goes in? I believe it uses a 2.5'' diameter pipe. The reason this particular cat interested me was the price and it included a new head pipe. The only difference I know of is a 2nd o2 bung on the cat. Could I just plug it up as my jeep only uses one o2 sensor on the head pipe?

I am also going to go with a new cat-back, possibly Banks. Any reason not to? Thanks in advance for your input!

It looks like all pieces should work together. Just use an o2 plug and you should be fine.
