I was under the hood changing oil and I noticed a hole in my intake tube. Its a aftermarket aluminum pipe, and I had drilled a hole a couple years ago to move the ait sensor (post filter). I put it back on the intake manifold after a while but I left the sensor sitting in the tube, jb welded on. Between the last time I was under the hood and today, the sensor has fallen out. Desperate, I took the tube to a motorcycle fab shop to se if they could just weld something over the hole. Apparently, a tire valve stem was just the right size and no welding was required. Crisis averted!

I have a tire valve wedged in the 2nd hole on the fipk(94 has another breather/tube off the intake besides the valve cover and the 96 didn't).

Re: Ghetto rigged/ingenious redneck/ quick fix of the day
Doesn't apply to my jeep, but i had an emergency road call to take a look at a triplex fairway (golf) mower. It was a very new unit, and it was stuck in the middle of a football field, the sprinklers were on, and they were getting ready for a game that evening. I was in my car so i had no tools, no test meter, i had NOTHING... But the Golf and Turf salesman was crying and wanted me to just "go take a look" anyway (you know, me with my magic wand).
So i arrived at the site, checked over most of the sensors and relays, looked over the fuses. The controller has its own diagnostic lights on it, and i noticed it said it was not in neutral. Playing with FWD & REV didn't help, so i figured the sensor was bad. No problem, i'll just jump out the connector and limp it back to the garage, but with what? I grabbed my click pen out of my pocket, disassembled it, stretched out the spring, and inserted it into the connector. After the engine started, i told the Golf salesman he owed me a new ball point pen, and i walked away LOL
I always wanted to fix a vehicle with a ball point pen

I've had a wood bumper on one car... too rare to find a decent priced bumper and it was going to be sold soon anyhow. I always carry some vacuum line plugs with me as they work well for various needs. I found that out when my NV242 lost some rubber plug it has on the left side and started leaking fluid. Tin foil also makes a decent short temporary fuse as does a paper clip.
