505 Performance...

Post by jeepman »

Not sure where to put this so Off topic it is, so not to clutter the other guys Thread...

OK Update for my 505 Dealings...
jeepman wrote:Yup I am not too thrilled with 505 myself right now...

Ordered parts:
- ARP head bolts ( I already have studs but can't use them in my MJ)
- 20thou shorter pushrods
- rocker shim kit
- Stainless steel Valve set with retainers and locks
- Valve spring kit (just Comp Springs but better price then Comp)

They never sent the ARP Head Bolts
20thou shorter Push rods are more like stock length even a smidge longer then stock so that's $50 for nothing

I am now afraid that the springs and valves I bought are not going to work out for me but I don't have time now till I get back from vacation in the US and gone for 2 weeks...
I wanted to throw this out here because Zak at 505 Was under the impression I was bashing him when I am not...

I made some mistakes when I ordered and so did he but he doesn't want to take any responsibility and instead just got all mad and said to return my stuff as there are plenty of others waiting for them...

I Just wanted to say Publicly that I was Never unhappy with my purchase and not knocking his products just the miss information regarding my order
some mistakes were mine and I can own that mistake like ordering 20thou shorter pushrods without knowing that there were different stock lengths
and his mistake was when I ordered them he never asked me what my stock length was...

My Second Mistake was when I ordered my parts and Asked him if they had the parts in stock and he said "yes I do" I never asked if they were under the same roof and his mistake was not telling me they were not at the same location and therefore couldn't guarantee they would ship together or not...

Which means that My ARP bolts are in transit and they never gave me a tracking number for the first order till a few days ago and the second part of the first order tracking info till today...

All in All I just wanted to be clear that this info is not to speak ill of 505 but just to speak to my experience and since they read the posts here that Mentions there name that They too need to learn from these experiences as I did and should I order from them again in the future I will be sure o know my options LONG before I try to order from them so the miscommunication can not happen again...

My Apologize to Zak IF he was Offended by my Post as typical as it is what you write on the internet doesn't always equate to what your trying to say so I hope this was clear enough and not get misunderstood...

Ya I guess he reads it here but not sure he actually cares about his business reputation.

He made a comment when I spoke with him about my issues and mentioned me talking
crap about him on the Internet which I don't believe I did hense this post.

I do hope he does read these post because it can only help his business
to become better. Oh well.

My experience (documented at great length/detail) is that Zach Steele didn't have 2 shits about wanting good clear communication w/ his customer. Nor did he care about his reputation enough with this customer. Would lead me to think that if one customer (myself) doesn't mean enough… well I might not be the only one. He seems to have a certain knack about his sales experience to manipulate a situation in a fashion that favors his outcome & often his alone (as stated by others prior & I agree).

Even in presales questions Zach was clear as mud. That was a major red flag for me.

Just another hack company trying to play on the level of Hesco. Hesco has a well earned reputation as being top notch. 505 also has a well earned reputation. lol.
