Comp Cam 4.0

Ok, so I heard you guys are the "go to people" when it comes to talking cams so hopefully one of you can help. I'm currently rebuilding a 4.0 and want to Cam it. I want to put a comp cam 68-232-4 cam in it with stock rockers, stock pistons, and a stock head. If I use P5249464 Mopar performance Springs, P4529218 Mopar performance Keepers, and P4452032 Retainers will this work or will I need more? Also if I end up getting this cam will I need new/heavy duty timing gears and chain or is the stock timing strong enough. Thanks for any help i really appreciate it!!! :)

I found them on Summit.https://www.summitracing.com/parts/dcc-5249464 Maybe they brought them back? If they don't have them what springs would you recommend??

Sorry if this is too old to dig up, but did you figure out the Mopar spring situation? I swear I have found them, but I don't want to buy any knock offs if I can avoid it.

I did find them on summitraceing. Have not finished the build yet so can't tell you how they are doing yet

You could also buy Hughes engines retainers and valve springs. Their valve springs show 120# at 1.660 installed height. That pressure is a bit high for a mild hydraulic flat tappet cam. You can also just buy the Hughes retainers and find a spring that will work (crane 99833). Although the larger diameter springs may hit the valve cover. There is no easy answer, at least I can't find one for a cam with over .450 lift. Well maybe new replacement springs some are supposed to be good for up to .475 lift.
Check and see what the coil bind is and subtract that figure for the installed spring height and then subtract .060 for a safety margin and you will have the highest lift you can run with that spring.

I am using the 68-231-4 cam, and I ran into the same spring issue. I found something that is ideal for it and in no way breaks the bank. Edelbrock 5813 sure seat springs. 110# for closed pressure. Fit stock retainers. No block machining needed. I have yet to put them in my stroker, but everything checks out.
