Spark plugs for edelbrock head?

I have the edelbrock head on my mini stroker and the literature recommends champion RC12 YC spark plugs, but I found the electrode reach of those plugs are quite a bit shorter (about .25 inch) than the factory recommended RC12 LYC plugs. It goes on to mention that if short reach plugs are used then poor performance and engine damage may occur. What gives?

I've only been able to find a couple threads that mentioned this but no definitive answer. Should I be using the original LYC plugs or the shorter YC plugs? Dished pistons are .008" below the deck if that matters.

I'd suggest you use the original LYC plugs. During the 21 years that I owned my Jeep, I didn't discover any plugs that were better than the recommended Champion RC12LYC.

Cool, thank you! I was thinking the original LYC plugs might be ok but it's always good to double check. Odd that edelbrock would recommend the short ones (unless someone didn't proofread the installation guidelines  ).
