short story. what i thought was an 88 turned out to be a 94 head. but either way it was run as a renix. i built the poorman's stroker and installed it yesterday. the engine purrs like a kitten at idle. 4.2 crank and connecting rods into the 4.0.
it will not accept any throttle. whether i feather the throttle or slam the throttle, the engine starts to spit/sputter/choke/backfire.
ive double checked the distributor to make sure its just past plug one. i have changed the tps to make sure that wasn't it. i am running 1 therm hotter plugs. fuel pressure is at 40+ lbs.
anyone have any ideas whats going on? my sons dream project has failed!

You could have a clogged fuel filter or bad fuel pump. Does the fuel pressure drop when you open the throttle?

the fuel stays between 40-45lbs though-out throttle.

Re: 4.5 stroker HELP PLEASE!
Check the voltage sweep of the TPS from closed to wide open throttle. It should rise linearly with no spikes or troughs.
If that checks out OK, something could be wrong with the distributor synch.

Re: 4.5 stroker HELP PLEASE!
I tried to help this guy on Facebook, referred him to here, showed him cruiser54 page on TPS adjustment, and had him post on my Facebook page jeepstroker's4.xxx Seems to be that he's avoiding great advice and isn't willing to work or stay in contact with people who make attempts at trouble shooting over the internet.
