Throttle Body Breathing

Post by Wildman Wells »

My 4.6L has a 62mm throttle body and 24lb injectors and I noticed when I went back to the K&N filter set up the motor runs way better. The question is would it be better or even possible to increase the size of the air intake set-up to the throttle body?

If you have the full k&n fipk, measure the ID of the plastic tube that sits ON the top of the tb(smaller than your 62mm tb). It is a choker. Measure the OD of your tb(2.5-2.75") and then find a silicon elbow/hose that has a 3" ID on filter end and necks down to your tb OD. They also make couplers that can fit inside the hose to make up the difference.
