Thickest head gasket

Post by Mopud »

Hey all,

What's the thickest head gasket available for these 4.0l? I've now had .026" taken off the deck and 0.015" off the head. I was previously running the FelPro 9076PTI which had a thickness of .051" so would like to step up to bring the CR down as much as possibe. Are there any fatter ones out there? I have read about .060" gaskets but I've so far been unable to source.

Regards,

Anthony

I have .060 Gasket's in stock Anthony.
Cometic makes them for me.

I'll be happy to put a Head gasket together for you along with your cam and pushrods.

I should have known to just ask you first :D

That would be great. Thanks, Russ.

Also are you happy with the Cloyes double roller? I've already ordered one but if there's a benefit to one of the others that you sell please let me know.

The Rollmaster is a better timing set.

I use Cloyes Hex Adjust sets on anything that is not getting a belt drive. The hex adjust is quick and easy and we've put thousands of passes and thousands of laps on them without a single failure. The hex adjust feature makes degreeing the cam about as fast and easy as it can be. Of course I put one on the stroker as well.

The Rollmaster has billet gears with 2°incremental keyways on the crank gear with solid rollers.

Either way the Rollmaster and Cloyes timing sets are serious upgrades over OE

Hex Adjusts also use billet gears and solid rollers.

I guess those must be custom made 'cause the only off-the-shelf Cometic head gaskets I could find are 0.040" and 0.050" compressed thickness respectively. I've updated a full list of available head gaskets on my site at http://www.jeep4.0performance.4mg.com/tech_specs.html
