Changing the overall length of a valve does not influence camshaft/valve lift, but can have some adverse effect on rocker arm geometry.Hedworx wrote:I took 30 thou off the bottom of mine, compressed 43thou gasket, Yella Terra 1.7 ratio roller rockers and a comp 68-232-4 cam. I haven't had any issues but I did take 50thou off the top off the valves to offset the extra lift. In the future rather than grinding .050 off the tip of the valve stem there are some OEM style mild steel pushrods that are pushrods that are around .030 and .050 shorter than stock and cost less than $20 a set.
