AEM F/IC Basic Setup

I am having a horrible time trying to get an AEM F/IC 6 working with my 4.7 stroker. With the bypass plug install everything runs fine. With the F/IC install, with or without the resistor on the O2 wire, it stumbles and the PCM constantly tries to pull fuel out to -15% trim. This is with a completely zeroed out calibration. Is this potentially a wiring issue that only presents itself when hooked up to the F/IC or something with the calibration setup?

I did the TPS and RPM calibration, but the RPM calibration I did at 800 RPM since I could get it to idle there long enough before stalling.

I flashed down to z104, no difference, but I plan to go back to z107. Going into the fuel map and just putting +10% on everything seemed to help partially, but it makes little sense that the F/IC zeroed out would cause the PCM to freak out that badly.

I'm running z107 on mine. What year PCm is it on?

1997, but I do have a 1999 PCM(P56041493AE) I can toss in if that would make any difference.

Adding this on, where can I get the z110 firmware? The 3.07 download on AEM's site only contains z101, z104, and z107.

z101 is the z110. I doubt it will work much better. I would double check the wiring and then possibly try the 99 PCM with the 107.

All three firmware versions with either PCM result in the same issue. Any amount of fuel added immediately gets pulled back out by the PCM. I am going to rip the resistor out later and try again without it. My initial testing without the resistor was months ago and it is possible I did not have a fully zeroed out calibration.

Oh.. are you fooling with the O2 sensor tables?

Well, that was my intention once the supercharger was installed that I may mess with it a bit. Otherwise it is just all zeroed out to do nothing right now.

With everything zeroed does it cause any problems?

Absolutely 100% everything zeroed out the PCM just keeps pulling fuel back. The F/IC should be making no changes, but something is happening that is making it freak out.

Oh, meant to note that the z101 flashes as Z1.01 and not Z1.10.

I would go through and verify the injector wiring 100% in goes to in, out goes to out. Disconnect the O2 wired for now just to diagnose. Go through and make sure every single table is zeroed. Don't forget the MAP table (button in the upper right corner of the fuel table). Don't forget to calibrate the RPM and TPS signals. Try Z104 or Z107. There is no Z101, only a Z110.

*Drags Fuel window to the left unobscuring it.* That is a horrible place for that button and now everything runs better. Thanks! Those Base Cal values were set in such a way that the MAF voltage would constantly dip in and out of -8% to -20% fuel set on that table.

It is kind of hidden. For some reason the basecals had that modified.

As for making the O2 sensor modification work, I wish you luck. IIRC Grandon used a 10k resistor and he said it worked, but I don't think he messed with it much though.

The Base Cal file that came with my original download had all kinds of crazy modifications in it.

I hope I can keep a reasonable tune with the supercharger and not worry about messing with adjusting the O2 sensor output.

Flashed back up to Z1.07, no hesitation on throttle tip in now and took it for a drive. Drove like the F/IC was not even there. :D

Just for fun, the very first log.
