Newby after 4.7 stroker advice

Post by Rokraider »

Hi
I am based in the UK. We have a 4.0 litre that was stroked to 4.7 using a kit in 1999. It was fitted in a 1998 TJ and the engine work was done by Janspeed engineering who no longer support it.
The fuelling on the engine has been using an aftermarket ECU and has retained the standard ECU that I believe is mainly to operate the dash. It is an archaic system and the vehicle never drove particularly well.
I would like to fit this engine into another TJ, but want to do a better setup for the fuelling and ignition. The engine has only done 9000 miles since it was built and should be in good shape internally.
Some advice would be appreciated please on the best way to go forward and which kit to use.
Thanks

Since you are from UK - check this:

As far as I know UK has best MS support and most installers.

Other option is to use Sniper EFI.... Self tuning.

Or get FlyinRyan or Chris to tune the factory PCM.

He'll remote tune your stock ECU and have the engine running like a champ.
