Don't know if anyone has seen this yet. But it looks promising.
It's an arduinomega based ecu currently compatible with 91'-98' 4.0L 6. Support for other things uppon request. Check it out.

arduino mega micro controllers are awesome. Great for small projects. Always thought i could use it to fuel inject a lawnmower. They could definitely be used as a ecu or even a piggyback.
