Its for my OBD II 2000 XJ, which has the cali emissions package minus the down stream O2 sensors. The rest of the sensors are as they were from factory. Turn around is one day. I am having the AFRs tuned, some low end timing added, the speed limiter removed (yeah, like I need that in a brick), and I am hoping he can re calibrate the MPG reading (which is based on factory injector size vs pulse width). I think it would be best to have the computer tuned properly as I have seen a better gain with retunes on stock computers vs a piggy back.

Wouldnt it be better or at least more efficient to have the computer programmed with the engine? It seems to me that you would need more than just the engine specs to accurately tune things like the amount of fuel dispensed throughout the range.
Now I can be like all those other awesome people with more than one Jeep in their sig, but now I have to say one of them is sold:(

Yes, it would be better to have the vehicle on a dyno and tune like that. However, Nick said that this guy did the programming for the Mopar Performance PCMs and that he has done quite a few strokers. We shall see how good he is. He will make changed for free though, but I rather not ship it out and be down some more. He is also the only person I know of that programs these units, so dragging it to the dyno isn't exactly feasible considering that he is on the opposite coast.

I received the PCM back today. This is what was done:
Increased speed limited from 114 mph to 254 mph (a bit optimistic there)
Pushed the rev limited from 5300 to 6000 RPM
Increased the idle from 648 to 700 rpm
Turned the torque management off
Turned stall torque off (don't know what the heck that is)
Adjusted fuel map
Something about Cylinder misfire code mil only to off
Ac compressor kicks off for 10 seconds at WOT )didn't even know they could program that, but neat)
Set cruise control range 30mph-130mph

I'm really interested to see what the torque management does as I had noticed that my 1991 XJ with 200,000 miles was quite a bit pepier than my 2000 XJ when they were both stock. They were both limiteds with the same exact drive train.

I'll report back on impressions after this weekend.

Let us know how it handles at 254 mph!

You mean after the body panels fall off the flying brick, or after I strap the rocket engine on to it? Or most likely in my case the next time my Titan fails.. lol

Its down, and I haven't driven it in a while. The shifts did feel crisper.. don't know why because the TCM is separate from the PCM... maybe its a function of the "torque management". Also, the fan coming on earlier is nice.

Unfortunately I will never know if this mod has any horsepower effect. The firmer shifting did come from the torque management being turned off, which I like. The RPM limit being moved up has no real use for me as the AW4 has a separate computer to control it which can't be modified aside from an RPM clamp on it... so I could up the rev limiter to 50,000 RPM and the AW4 will still shift at the stock setting (5200?). The A/C cut off will be nice as that is something I hate. I know that the AC drags so much on the engine (3.55 gears and 31" tires aren't making things better), and when I put the pedal down I want it all.. this mod makes that happen. The e-fan coming on earlier I don't know about. While it seems like a good idea I think it might be coming on too soon.. this summer I will know for sure.. plus I think my fan isn't 100% balanced and I feel it come on. As far as the tune for AFR I am able to return it as many times I like for what ever mod I do. Even if I want to change when the fan comes on I can return it and have it re programed. However, as long as the new lower flowing injectors work on the engine I can adjust that with the APEXI.

And the top speed limiter... While it is infinitely kewl to know that you can put the pedal down and go until the engine completely winds out (and subsequently explodes 5 minutes later at 6000 RPM in 4th), I have only hit the top speed limited once in the XJ. Surprisingly it felt pretty stable at that speed but that was at stock height with stock tires.

So, for me I like the different mods that it has besides the RPM increase and AFR adjustments. YMMV
