Rods overheated?

Got most of my stuff back from the machine shop today... Did they screw up a couple of my new rods when they installed them to the pistons? Two of them look really blue at the small end.

Russ is the man to answer this.

As you probably know you have a pressfit wrist pin.

All that means is the pin is approximately .001 larger in diameter than the rod housing bore.
The correct way to install the piston on your connecting rod is to heat the small end of the rod to allow enough time for the rod bore to expand allowing the pin to slide through.

We try to turn the heat down low enough and keep the duration time down so it doesn’t turn the rod purple. But that said, you have absolutely nothing to worry about with Rod showing a bit of color.

Good luck with your build.

No problem,

Just a quick observation. Double check that piston rod combination on the bottom right-hand corner.

In the picture doesn’t look like it’s properly centered.
Make sure that’s not a problem before you assemble it
