Need tachometer that goes above 6000 RPM

I'm probably going to spin my stroker past 6K RPM. I'm wondering if the stock tach in my 97 XJ will just go past 6K? There's no stop or anything. It's an auto so I'm not manually shifting at redline for the most part.

Anyone know if the tach's needle will just keep going past 6000 RPM?

Otherwise I might just install an aftermarket tach

I'm interested in an answer as well. Might help with what year and rig though.

Stock tach needle will continue past 6K the same way the speedo goes past 100 mph.

Also it's fun if you're stroker is built for it. This thing screams
