No idle

Hope one of you can help me out here. I have a 1993 Jeep cherokee backed by an aw4 with an np231 tcase. I recently rebuilt a new 4.0 with a bigger cam (comp cam 68-232-4), bored 30 over, polished crank, mopar performance springs, and a 3 angle valve job. For the last couple of days we have been trying to get it running and we have come a long way but are still not quite there. To start the jeep you have to hold the throttle open a little bit then it runs fine.. but as soon as you let go of the throttle it dies, its like it wont idle for some reason. We have shaved the ears off the distributor so we can spin it to advance/retard timing witch is why we are as close as we are now. you can hold the throttle open just a little to get it to stay at about 800 rpms witch I would think is a normal idle but as soon as you let it go any lower it does. Not sure what else to do at this point, any ideas???? thanks for any help/suggestions. :banghead:

also has new:
plug wires
crank sensor
coil
distributor cap/rotor

We got it now so it starts and idles most of the time but when it does it just farts and pops. Then when you rev it up it pops through the exhaust and intake
