A/c Bracket bearing

Post by Frankenstien »

I did the search with no results but has anybody found the exact bearing part number for this bearing on this a/c bracket yet?
Thought I found one on the bay under water pump bearing as that is what the web seems to point to but really unsure. Supposed to fit 95 4.0 jeep engine a/c mounting support bracket passenger side near valve cover.
This is a pic of the OEM bracket...

eBay item number:
281796225904
Thanks! Best,

Am I correct in that this is the bearing where the idler pulley is located? I did mine on a 98 and that bearing is considered a water pump bearing. I removed mine and had the local bearing house and had them match it up. The catch is that the bearing needs to have the shafts cut to length. I hope this gives you a little better idea on what you are looking for.

NSK 885586 is the part I have noted from another forum. I intend to get one but haven't yet so I don't have first hand knowledge that it's the right one. I was planning on pressing mine out first and verifying the dimensions before I buy.

You can figure out the dimensions of the bearing (inner race, outer race and thickness) by looking up the part number on the bearing, if that helps...

I went ahead and pressed one out so I could measure and order one. I can't find the dimensions for the 885586, but all the pictures I see look long without cutting. This catalog is very helpful: http://rolling.hu/pdf/FAG_waterpump_catalogue.pdf
My bearing matches the FAG W2456, which crosses to an NSK 885162 and is also in the catalog for some Jeeps. Mine is a 96 and I know the a/c bracket changed through the years, the bearing may have changed too so it may not apply to your year.
