Fuel tank
Would it be worth my trouble to get a fuel tank from a 2000 tj with pump and sending unit for my 83 cherokee project?? I will be using a OB1 fuel injection.

Re: Fuel tank
Part #e8248 napa, carquest, .etc... . Inexpensive, enough fuel for 500 + h.p.(65 p.s.i. 135 g.p.h. I think) , inline with mount kit, easy hook-up, and readily available. Kind of noisy though!

Re: Fuel tank
Thanks racing89, I do already have an external fuel pump, Master 2800 series I think. I was just wondering if having a "all in one" unit would have any benefit, and since this is from a 2000 TJ, if it would even be adaptable to a older fuel injection system.

Re: Fuel tank
2000 TJ is OBD2 with a single line system and regulator in the the tank. Yours will have 2 fuel lines off the rail, one pressure and one return out of the regulator...Won't work with your fuel rail, no place to send the fuel. You could change to a 96-01 model fuel rail and it will work but a OBD2 has a 4 wire pump plug in (not sure why) and your obd1 will be a 3 wire. Orange for power, black for ground and purple for sending unit,. OBD1 has 39lbs on the rail and OBD2 has 49lbs, also the OBD2 pump is $200.00 and the OBD1 is cheap, so I hope this helps alittle. Since it's a 83 are we talking about a FSJ with a xj drivetrain and harness?

Re: Fuel tank
racing89 that part # doesn't exist on napa and leads to a in tank unit for carquest. can you double check the part number?racing89 wrote:Part #e8248 napa, carquest, .etc... .
