what about something even more basic? like the crank with "JeepStrokers.com" under it. No curve to the words just very simple plain text. Or maybe in the original Jeep font?

FrankZ wrote:Maybe it's just me, but they all seem redundant. JeepStrokers/JeepStrokers.com...?

How about something a little more catchy?
"I got Bored at JeepStrokers.com"
"Ask me about my enhanced stroke! JeepStrokers.com"
"It's the cubes that matter. JeepStrokers.com"
"Build it bigger, build it better. JeepStrokers.com"
"Yeah I Supersized it! JeepStrokers.com"

That a tag line/ catch phrase.. not really something used in a logo.. unless its a strip bar. Catch phrases are more commonly used on a t-shirt.

I like #6 for my first choice and then followed up by #4, only that wins out slightly to #1 because I like the length of the words on the top being more prominent.

Reason I voted for #6 is if the sticker is cut "round", I can place it on the tailgate or side a lot easier than a long square bumper sticker. I believe it would receive a lot more attention, especially if it is in color.
Not to mention I have both crank and pistons changed in the stroker..

#5 its the cleanest and the only choice thats not asymmetrical.(works for my current race jeep) Could use more variation.( more fonts, graphics) I was a graphic artist, illustrator in the 80's with 6 years of education. Each version should have a different target audience, young guys older guys, street machine, down and dirty crawlers. Just my opinion and thankful that anyone spent the time do it at all, I know how time consuming good design can be.

Okay I feel sorry for SilverXJ Chris because I know how it is having your design criticized especially by people who don't understand the finer points or the reason why some things NEED to be a certain way (For visual clarity for instance) or are best left a certain way. Like things that are subtle instead of being "smack you in the face" obvious...

But all that said I have my own opinion too :) I like #6 for the gear ring, but I prefer the inner design of #9. I also think that Jeep Strokers and JeepStrokers.com is kinda redundant. And maybe clutters the design.

I realize my own logo is not without its own faults, the abstract crank outline is a little too hard to make out as a crankshaft, and the hot rod flames are too busy but without making them impossible to make out as hotrod flames it's what I "needed" to do... The crank outline needed to be simplistic enough to not make the design even more busy. Saying this so people understand that I know mine is not perfect either.

Things that could be improved IMO... The crank in all those examples is too busy a little more stylized and not as detailed... maybe only a section of the crank so you can blow it up larger to be more clear... Also make the dark "as cast" areas lighter so they aren't so visually heavy (and thus busy).

Use only Jeepstrokers.com and think about changing it to http://www.jeepstrokers.com because of the 3 letter symmetry on ether side. Make it longer and make it wrap further around the circle move the center graphic up off center. OR double up the http://www.jeepstrokers.com (have it repeat in a circle). Or maybe put a short slogan or catch phrase in there. I like the wrench and piston best by a mile.

"Stroke Your 4.0 At"
"Stroke Your Jeep @"
"Stroke Yours At"
"Stroke It At"
"Stroke Your I6 At"

I chose number 6 & 7, but I would like number 5 if the gear was around it. I think the straight up and down piston with the horizontal crank looks better, but needs the gear around it. I also like the piston being used for the "T" in Stroker. When can I get mine?

Sure, you could use a section of the crank.. but then it could be any old crank... even a V8 cranks and no one would tell the difference. Hence why I wanted to use the whole crank... so one in the know would realize its a I6 crank, not a V8 crank. As for doeing lighter/darker variations we can do that at a point, right now we are just deciding on a basic layout for the logo.
Fair enough on recognizing the crank, though I'm not sure how vital that is, as opossed to just recognizing that is IS a crank... The darkness or lightness overall is not what I'm talking about, I mean JUST the weights and throws of the crank could be lightened. because the crank tends to dominate the other black outline elements (like the piston) due to the black sections inside the crankshaft if they were grey they would have less visual weight.

Using only jeepstrokers.com, but when you have a ".something" at the end the http://www. crap tends to just cause an ulgy distraction.
Yeah that's the forums fault, I wrote wwwDOT and the forum appended the hypertext transfer protocol and slashes think WWW dot JEEPSTROKER dot COM and my comment about symmetry makes a lot more sense.

I too like #6 due to the gear surround, but would like to see JeePStrokers.com on top in the larger font, and the Jeep Strokers on the bottom disappear. Too redundant. Then move the crank/piston graphic down a bit.

Yeah I must have... Meant to hit "quote" damn that's messed up... I don't know how to restore all of what you wrote, because I cut out the parts I wasn't replying to. Sorry Chris.

That'll teach me to try and get a quick post on turkey day while my little girl is running about being the center of attention and distracting me...

Oh for those who don't know we get a little edit button on every post across from the quote button that everyone gets, just in case we need to censor or quickly remove something (like spam or porn)...

I believe this may be the first time it's been used and it was a mistake on my part.
