Stroker MPG
for those of you running a stroker in a daily driver, what kind of fuel mileage are you experiencing?

Re: Stroker MPG
We'll I'm not running a stroker at the moment. Right now it's just the stock 91 4.0 with 3 speed auto that gets around 12 around town and 15 highway. After we get done with the motor with manual trans id expect the mileage to drop around town maybe to 11 if not on the gas to much and be about the same on the freeway since its a 4 speed with direct drive 4th instead of an automatic that doesn't have a lockup converter to give direct drive. I could definitely get better mileage if i regeared since im running 37's with 5.13 gears. That means it's reving around 3,000rpm going 60. Not exactly where I would like it to be, so a regearing may be in order to help the fatigue on the motor, drivetrain parts, mileage, and most importantly the driver.

Re: Stroker MPG
My 4.6 has avaraged as high as 20mpg highway with 33" tires and 4.56 gears... I averages about 18mpg in mixed driving most of the time... Which is almost exactly what my Wife's OBDII 4.0 (19mpg), my other OBDI 4.0 and my Comanche's Renix 4.0 do (19-20 mixed).
The increase in displacment was offset by my gearing and my Torque peake which are absolutely perfect for 2500-2800 RPM cruise speeds.
It'll never win an award from tree huggers, but considering it's got more power and torque than most small block V8's and is a flying brick I'll take it.

Re: Stroker MPG
I get 17-19 mpg in my daily driving that is 80% highway. Straight highway driving gets me around 20 mpg. I have 225/70/15 tires.

Re: Stroker MPG
sounds like everyone is getting close to stock numbers. not bad considering the increased displacement and bigger injectors.

Everyone is actually geting better than I do with my stock 4.0 chero. The last couple weeks I've been getting 12-13. It might be time for a tune up.
