What flexplat mating a 1995 4.0 to a 1985 TF999

I was going to make a bracket and cut a hole in my TF999 bell housing for the CPS yesterday. While mocking the flex plate (FP) in place I noticed the four holes (in the FP) did not align with the torque converter (TC) bolt holes. I drilled new holes in the FP to fit the TC, spreading them wider. Now, when the bolts are installed the new holes, the bolt heads don’t sit flat because the new holes are in an area where the FP is not flat. It’s not gonna work.

I searched the internet and found a couple threads that say I need to use the 258 FP & starter to mate the 4.0 to a TF999.

Is there a 4.0 FP that will bolt up to a 1985 TF999 TC?

Ok, how about I turn the question around.

Is there a TC that will fit and work on my TF999 that has the bolt correct pattern to attach to a FP from a 4.0 that has the flange welded to it, the flange with the three series of square holes in it, that activate the CPS sensor.

Am I the first person to put a 4.0 (4.7 stroker) in a CJ-7 with a TF999 automatic transmission?

Ok, I will ask a different question.

According to what I have read the TF999 and the 32RH are the same with minor upgrades, like lock-up torque converter. The 32RH three speed automatic transmission was used in 1992 to 1995 Wrangler with 4.0L engine.

It seems to me the flexplate from a 92-95 would be the one for my 4.7 stroker / TF999 combo in my CJ-7.

I have a flexplate from a Cherokee 4.0 with the AW4 transmission, and it doesn’t bolt up to my TF999.

Now for my question

Is the flexplate for a 92-95 wrangler / 32RH different than a flexplate for a 1995 Cherokee with the 4.0 / AW4 ?

I ordered a 1992-1995 YJ flexplate which is shaped different than the XJ flexplate that I have (that doesn’t fit). Pioneer FRA-539 is what I have now, and it Seems like it will work, other than I had to drill 4 new holes for it to line up to my CJ-7 TF999 torque converter bolt holes.
