Need 12 hole 24 lb injectors
Hi All. I have a budget built 4.6L that I built about 8 years ago. I used a set of Ford Motorsports 24# blue injectors from my old 91 mustang in it. Now I'm chasing my tail with misfires and if I clean the injectors they work well for a while then problems again.
SO... The plan is to flush my tank and fuel lines, cut in a good filter and upgrade to 24# 12 hole EV1 injectors. Any body have a part number for me and a good place to buy a quality set? Thanks. Stroker Ace

They have an EV1 connector. If your Jeep is < 1999, then you are using EV1 already. If you are >= 1999, then you need an EV6 to EV1 adapter.

Don't think those are 12 hole injectors. Ive found a lot of the misfire issue are with preignition from carbon build up in the chamber. Sea foam usually helps break up the carbon and ive even sprayed water in the intake with spray bottle as im reving it and it actually stoped my misfires for a while.

Bah sorry Tolemar, I jumped onto the thread and obviously didn't pay full attention to the original question.
So you're thinking more holes = less susceptible to fouling?

X2 water/meth injection kept my engine very clean. I've also done the water in the intake method.Tolemar wrote: ↑May 27th, 2020, 8:18 pm Don't think those are 12 hole injectors. OP how are you cleaning your injectors? You could install the fuel filter you mentioned with recently cleaned injectors and see if your issue resolves. I sent you a PM for the 12 holes if you need some.

Assumed 12 hole was a misprint. Never heard of a 12 hole injector. single and 4 hole yes.

Re: Need 12 hole 24 lb injectors
Ive actually seen some on ebay. 12 hole 24# injectors. I ask the seller about them and he said they came out of a certain vehicle. Are you the one that designed the turbo manifolds?. I have a HP tuner now and wanted to figure out how to program the fuel tables for a turbo jeep. I assume you use bigger injectors a 2 bar map and change adjust the fuel tables to take out fuel in vacuum and add fuel under boost.

Re: Need 12 hole 24 lb injectors
Skeptical of a 12 hole injector. Experience has shown that debris in the common fuel system and engine reversion to mitigate the smaller discharge orifices.
Simply put, 12 holes are to small to reliably pass the amount of fuel typically associated with the needs of a common stroker. The improved (?) spray pattern they (might) have would be of little value for this application.

Re: Need 12 hole 24 lb injectors
The 12 holes that I have are rated at 22.9 at 3 bar and come with static and dynamic flow data from the test rig.
I also have 4 hole injectors as well same 22.9 at 3 bar.
36lbs 4 holes are available for forced induction.
You should change your fuel filter at the specified interval no matter what injector you run.
Tolemar
Yes I made the turbo manifolds PM if you have questions.

Re: Need 12 hole 24 lb injectors
So is 12 hole not a good idea for a basic NA stroker? I heard they worked even better than the 4 hole. It was on the internet so it must be true! HAHA!!!

Re: Need 12 hole 24 lb injectors
Get whatever injector you want just make sure its 24# @43.5psi and make sure its not Chinese knock offs. I'm going to be running the 24# ford racing 6 hole injectors in my stroker.

Re: Need 12 hole 24 lb injectors
Not sure what my current injectors are rated at. All I know is they are over 20 years old and came out of my mustang. They are blue top 24 pounders. I wonder if they are rated at 39psi or 43psi. I would like to go in with the same setup, just not a single hole style.
